Alice Hebert

June 19, 1914 — August 5, 2009

Alice Margaret Ecklund, daughter of John and Anna (Johannsdotter) Ecklund, was born June 19, 1914 in Quiring Township in North Beltrami County, Minnesota. She attended Kelliher High School, graduating in 1932. On June 30, 1935, she was united in marriage to Leo Hebert. Following their marriage the couple farmed and raised their two children. They retired in 1980. Leo died in 1980 and Alice then moved to the Starbuck area to live near her daughter, Peggy.




Alice was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Starbuck, where she enjoyed quilting, sewing children’s clothes and attending the Bethel Series. She also liked playing scrabble and cards. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan for many years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Every day and night she made time to pray for her family.




Alice died on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, MN, having lived to reach the age of 95 years.




She is survived by one son: Larry (Chris) Hebert of Forest Lake; one daughter: Peggy (Steve) Dahlseng of rural Cyrus; six grandchildren: Matthew (Sara) Hebert of St. Cloud, Nicolle (Dave) Gunnlaugsson of Hudson, WI, Aaron Dahlseng of Denver, CO, David (Lesley) Dahlseng of Alexandria, Mark Dahlseng of Denver, CO and Renee Dahlseng of Nashville, TN; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother: Fridolf Eklund and one sister: Ester Cameron.





Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangments.





In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, MN
