Arnold Longnecker

August 15, 1925 — December 2, 2006

Arnold Eugene Longnecker, son of Curtis and Sally (LaLond) Longnecker, was born August 15, 1925 in Correll, Minnesota. He grew up in Appleton and began his schooling, later graduating from Appleton High School. While attending school, Arnold was an avid athlete and participated in football, basketball and baseball. Following his schooling, he began farming in the Appleton area. On August 26, 1948, he was united in marriage to Marlys Koosman at St. John's Lutheran Church in Holloway. From this union five children were born. The couple farmed together until they sold the farm in 1974, when they moved to Appleton. After moving to Appleton, Arnold owned and operated his own snow plowing business and also continued to work for area farmers. He later retired and continued to live in the Appleton area until the time of his death.

Arnold was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. He was also a member of the Ridgerunner's Snowmobile Club and the Appleton Sportsman's Club. Arnie loved to visit with everyone. When he had his stroke his family missed his voice and his many stories. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Arnie shot a 15 point buck that was listed in Boone and Crocket records. He was also a wonderful dancer and enjoyed dancing with Marlys. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
