Barbara Larson

October 4, 1924 — September 2, 2008

Barbara Jean Krueger, daughter of Oscar and Margaret (Thorstad) Krueger, was born October 4, 1924 in Framnas Township in Stevens County, Minnesota, where she grew up on the family turkey farm. Barbara began her schooling at Country School District #40 and later graduated from Morris High School. When Barbara was 18 her father died, so she moved to Morris with her mother and sister, where she became a seamstress at the JC Penny Store. On July 17, 1944, she was united in marriage to Paul Larson at the First Lutheran Church in Morris. Following their marriage, the couple lived on a farm in Framnas Township, where Barbara was a homemaker and helped with the farm work. In 1968, Barbara started working at Super Valu, where she continued to work until the late 1980’s. Paul died on October 13, 1986. Barbara continued to live on the family farm until 2003, when she moved to Morris until the time of her death.

Barbara was a current member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morris. She previously was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she was active with the ladies aide. For many years she was a leader of the Pep and Progress 4-H Club; she was a member of the Framnas Homemakers and the Birthday Club. Barbara also served on the American Cancer Society Board and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara enjoyed doing crafts, painting, reading Danielle Steele Books and sewing in her early years. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Barbara died on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Courage Cottage in Morris, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 83 years.
