Becky Stevenson

Becky Ann Stevenson, daughter of David and Susan (Polk) Stevenson, was born June 4, 1969 in Morris, Minnesota, where she grew up and graduated from Morris Area High School in 1987. After high school, she attended two years at the University of Minnesota in Morris. On March 8, 1991 she enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she received her Medical Air Force Degree at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and was later stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona. She received an honorable discharge on August 10, 1993. Following her discharge, Becky moved back to Morris and attended Fergus Falls Community College, where she received her degree in Histology and Lab Technician. Following her schooling, she worked at the Stevens Community Medical Center, working in the Lab for a few years. She most recently moved to Hancock, where her life has centered on her sons, Derrick and Daniel.





Becky was a member of the Morris American Legion and the Disabled Veterans. Becky was an avid reader, where she enjoyed reading to the boys. They also liked to listen to music and make crafts together. She loved to spend time at the lake with her boys.





Becky died on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at her home in Hancock, having lived to reach the age of 38 years.





She is survived by two sons: Derrick and Daniel Borders of Hancock; her parents: Dave and Susan Stevenson of Morris; grandmother: Ethel Polk of Morris; one brother: Paul (Pamela) Stevenson of Temecula, CA and two nephews: Craig and Shane of Temecula, CA. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Floyd and Bertha Stevenson and Willie Polk.





Pallbearers for the service are: Paul Stevenson, Ross Tiegs, Rick Grossman, Randy Willis, Erv Krosch and George Sauder. Ken Hodgson will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
