Betty McGinnis

Betty Jean Burchill, daughter of William and Minnie (Olson) Burchill, was born December 14, 1921 in Pillsbury , North Dakota . Betty grew up and was baptized in Valley City , North Dakota . She graduated from Valley City High School . Betty was united in marriage to Jerry McGinnis. The couple lived in Morris, where they owned and operated McGinnis Appliance and Betty also worked for Dr. Watson and Dr. Arneson. Jerry died in March, 1979. Betty was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. She belonged to three Bridge Clubs. Betty enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings.

Betty died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the West Wind Village in Morris , Minnesota , having lived to reach the age of 88 years.

She is survived by one sister: Marvel Burchill Baumann of Fargo, ND; sister-in-law: Marian Burchill of Fargo, ND; two nephews: Rick (Pam) Burchill of Fargo, ND and William (Suzie) Baumann of Moreno Valley, CA and two nieces: Sandy Nordlund of Eau Claire, WI and Susan Burchill of Hudson, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry McGinnis; her parents: Willaim and Minnie Burchill and one brother: William Burchill.

Pallbearers for the service are all of Betty’s relatives and friends. Darlene Hennen will serve as pianist for the service with Holly Giese serving as song leader/soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge or the arrangements.
