Bonita Dallenbach

January 27, 1931 — November 10, 2007

Bonita Dallenbach died on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the West Wind Village in Morris.

Bonita June Burmeister was born on January 27, 1931 in Morris, Minnesota, to Henry, Jr. and Sophia (Mauch) Burmeister. She graduated from Chokio High School in 1949 where she sang in the choir and served as a highly skilled member of the tumbling team. Bonnie graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in elementary education. During one summer vacation, Bonnie and her college roommate: Phyllis Rickmeyer worked in the state of Washington. Bonnie taught school in Morton, Minnesota, where she met Harvey Dallenbach. On March 28, 1953, Bonnie was united in marriage to Harvey James Dallenbach at the Methodist Church in Chokio. God blessed this union with three sons: Harvey Dean, Daniel and David. After their marriage, she taught school in the Twin Cities. Bonnie also sold Shaklee products, assisted Harvey in selling Filter Queen vacuum cleaners and served as a caregiver for children with special needs. Bonnie and Harvey raised their sons in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Harvey died in 1991. In 1995 Bonnie returned to Chokio. She relocated to West Wind Village in 1998.

Bonnie came to Christ at Red Rock Bible Camp as a teenager.

Bonnie had a gift of music. She had a trained voice and recorded a record. She had perfect pitch and her vocal range was three octaves. She could burst into song at any moment and blessed many with this gift. Bonnie was a member of Inver Grove Heights Assembly of God Church where she was involved in the music ministry and sang for a small Christian radio station in the Twin Cities. She and her friends, Arlene and Wally Kowitz, sang in nursing homes and served at the Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul. She had a compassion for the needs of people and gave generously from her servant's heart. Despite many tragedies in her life, she praised God and served others.

Bonnie is survived by one son: Harvey Dean Dallenbach of St. Paul; three granddaughters: Deanna Dallenbach of Cottage Grove, Selena Dallenbach of Cottage Grove and Elisha Dallenbach of St. Paul; three great-grandsons: Tristen, Justice and Dominic; one sister: Shirley (Clyde) Augsburger of Berne, Indiana; one sister-in-law: JoAn Burmeister (niece Beth Ann and nephew Nate) of Chokio; Aunt Martha Burmeister of Chokio and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons: Daniel and David; two sisters: Carol Tuttle and Barbara Robbins; one brother, Charles (Hank) Burmeister and two nephews.

Pallbearers for the service are: Harvey Burmeister, Jerry Burmeister, Nathan Burmeister, Arthur Knutson, Alvin Mauch and Bill Rickmeyer. Joanne Foley will serve as organist for the service with Roger Blair serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
