Connie Christians

August 20, 1950 — July 2, 2007

Connie Marie Christians, daughter of Harold and Louise (Bohnart) Christians, was born August 20, 1950 in Little Rock, Iowa, where she was baptized on November 26, 1950 at the Presbyterian Church. She spent the first 12 years of her life in Little Rock, when she moved with her family to Herman, MN in 1962. Connie graduated from Herman Community School in 1968. Following her schooling, she worked for Northwestern Bell, now known as Quest. She worked there from 1968 to 1999. She retired after 31 years of faithful service. Connie met her soul mate, Ron Kusske in 1983. The couple purchased a home in Hopkins in 1986 and loved to travel together all over the United States. Connie's beloved Ron died in 1998. Connie stayed in Hopkins until 2003, when she purchased her mothers home in Herman and moved back to care for her. Connie met Daniel O'Donnell and would fly to Las Vegas and to Branson, MO in the fall to spend time with him, until 2007 when her illness would not allow her to travel anymore.

Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer in January, 1996 and chose to have a lumpectomy in February of the same year. She lived a full and busy life for nearly ten years, when in April, 2007, her cancer returned and she chose to have no further treatments.

Connie was presented with the greatest gift of her life by her daughter, Jodi, with the birth of her grandsons: Mitchell Ron in 2003 and Matthew Clay in 2004.

Connie was a member of Eden Reformed Church, where she served on the Guild Consistory. She enjoyed scrap booking and playing the slots in Las Vegas. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends.

Connie died on Monday, July 2, 2007 at the Courage Cottage in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 56 years, 7 months and 6 days.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Jodi (Dave) Kusinski of Bloomington; two grandsons: Mitchell Ron Kusinski and Matthew Clay Kusinski; her mother: Louise Christians of Herman; two brothers: Butch (Marilyn) Christians of Elbow Lake and Leon Christians of Coon Rapids; sister-in-law: Mary Ann Christians; two nephews: Jason and Kyle; two nieces: Jennifer and Ashley; her puppy: Trixie and tons and tons of friends.
