Connie Kenyon

Connie Raye Janke, daughter of Melvin and Alice (Salvog) Janke, was born June 19, 1947 in Appleton , Minnesota , where she was baptized on July 6, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church by Reverend Belgum. At the age of five, Connie’s family moved to Morris, where she was confirmed on October 7, 1962 at First Lutheran Church . Connie attended Morris Public Schools , graduating on June 4, 1965 from the Morris High School . Following her schooling, Connie lived in the Cities and worked at Sears. On October 7, 1967, she was united in marriage to Edmond Kenyon at the First Lutheran Church in Morris , MN by Reverend Grinland, and to this union three children were born. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Morris before moving to Graceville and then Hancock. Connie worked at Fingerhut in Morris and the Villa of St. Francis.





Connie enjoyed raising a large vegetable garden and sharing the extra’s with family and friends. She also liked to go ice fishing, bottle feeding the new born lambs, cooking, listening to music and raising her lab puppies. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.





Connie died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria , MN , having lived to reach the age of 62 years.





She is survived by her husband: Edmond Kenyon of Hancock; three children: Kimberly (Scott) Brown of Long Prairie, Kristy (Greg) Dueffert of New Market and Joel (Molly) Kenyon of Hancock; six grandchildren: Tyler, Kendra and Brandon Dueffert of New Market, Nathan and Carter Brown of Long Prairie and Kaytlynn Kenyon of Hancock; one sister: Judy Hickman of Morris; one brother: Tim (Michelle) Janke of Alexandria and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law: Edmund and Wilma Kenyon; brother-in-law: Gary Hickman; two sisters-in-law: Arlene Kenyon and Joyce Beyer; her grandparents and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.





Pallbearers for the service are: Richard Janke, Elwood Moseng, Rick Arnoli, Ronnie Arnoli, Ordell Bunji and Tim Beyer. Honorary Pallbeares are: Wesley Arnoli, Art Kahleck, Joshua Janke, Tyler Dueffert, Kendra Dueffert, Brandon Dueffert, Nathan Brown, Carter Brown, Kaytlynn Kenyon and all who called her friend. Karl Retzlaff will serve as organist for the service, with Sheryl Dahl serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
