Darell Mohr

May 30, 1953 — March 25, 2009

Darell Lester Mohr, son of Robert and Aileen (Giese) Mohr, was born May 30, 1953 in Morris, Minnesota, where he was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Darell attended and graduated from Morris Area High School in 1971. In February of 1973, he joined the Minnesota National Guards, serving for six years. While Darell was still in high school, he began working with his father in the family business, Mohr Plumbing.  On October 11, 1975, he was united in marriage to Kathy Amborn. To this union three children were born. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Morris, where Darell continued in the plumbing business. In 1984, Darell and Kathy purchased the company from Darell’s father. They owned and operated the business until 2008, when they sold it because of Darell’s health.

Darell was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Morris and the American Legion. He served on the Morris Fire Department for 21 years. Darell enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding his 4-wheeler, snowmobiling and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed the time he was able to spend being “Papa” to his granddaughter.
