Delores Greiner

Delores Josephine Rowles, daughter of Luke and Anna (Kill) Rowles, was born July 11, 1922 in Hancock, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. On July 17, 1940, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Greiner in Morris, MN. Following their marriage, the couple lived near Hancock, where they farmed for several years. In the early 1940's, the couple purchased their own farm, where Delores worked side by side with Lawrence. They farmed until 1976, when they retired and moved into Hancock.



Delores was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris and also served as a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing and playing cards. She was known for her fresh baked homemade bread and garden vegetables that she loved to share. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and many friends and relatives.



Delores died on Monday, May 29, 2006 at the SCMC Courage Cottage in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 83 years.



She is survived by three sons: Gary (Marcia) Greiner of Hancock, Larry Greiner of Hancock, Don (Michele) Greiner of Hancock; one daughter: Pat (Dave) Gerdes of Maple Grove; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five sisters: Katherine Mecklenberg, Mary Jacques, Irene Sullivan, Margaret Kraayenbrink and Madonna Moser and one brother: John Rowles.



Pallbearers for the service are Delores's grandchildren: Darby Greiner, Alisa Greiner, Gwen Thielke, Mandy Greiner, Luke Greiner, Cally Greiner, Taylor Gerdes and Anna Gerdes. Honorary pallbearers are: Betty and V.J. Mikkelson, Bill and Arletta Myers, Ray and Francis Aandal, Millie Goll, Zip and Lois Bell, Ollie Sturm, Jergy Myers, George and Lauretta Kill and Ken and Jean Cruze. Linda Hodgson will serve as pianist for the service, with Ken Hodgson serving as song leader. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.



Memorials are preferred to the SCMC Courage Cottage in Morris.
