Donald Sabolik

May 27, 1943 — June 24, 2006

Donald Clifford Sabolik was born May 27, 1943 in Windom, MN, the oldest of three sons born to Clifford and Mayme (Wefel) Sabolik. In 1948, the family moved to Kensington to begin farming, where Don attended Kensington High School, graduating in 1961. During the summer of 1963, he met his one and only true love at the Lakeside Ballroom, Lynda Lolkus of Hoffman. They married August 29, 1964 at Lands Lutheran Church in Hoffman. To this union three children were born, Lori, Michael and Jessica. The couple pursued their lifelong goal of livestock farming with dairy and feeder cattle. Don's true passion was riding the pastures on his favorite horse, checking his beef cows and calves. They also raised and enjoyed registered Quarter Horses and Collie puppies. In 1997, Don and Lynda moved to New London, MN, where they owned and operated the Riverside CafAsh, until the spring of 2003. They moved to the Lake Minnewaska Area and began a new business, Roadside Antiques, which they both enjoyed very much. Don was "Mr. Fix It". He could repair anything and loved the challenge. Don and Lynda enjoyed horseback rides together, traveling, spending time with their grandchildren, playing cards and riding scooters. Most of all they enjoyed working together side by side for over 42 years. Don loved everything he did in his life. "I Love what I do and I do what I Love".
