Donald Uphoff

Memorial services for Donald Uphoff of Morris, MN will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris, with Reverend Dell Sanderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Donald Marvin Uphoff, son of Arthur and Martha (Valentien) Uphoff, was born November 28, 1936 in Roseville Township, rural Herman, Minnesota. Don attended Country School District #16 and graduated from Hoffman High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Donna Hanson on November 30, 1963, to this union two sons were born, Michael and Kyle. Don farmed with his two brothers, Arthur and Gary. Their happiest day was the day they sold their dairy herd and started to operate a commercial feed lot near Morris. When Arthur passed away, Susan and Jon started farming with Don and Gary. Don and Donna moved to Morris and Don retired in 2002.

Don enjoyed attending and singing at services at Faith Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed camping, carving walking sticks, hunting and fishing trips to Canada and especially spending time with his family.

Don died on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, MN. He lived to the age of 78 years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Donna Uphoff of Morris; two sons: Michael Uphoff of Memphis, TN and Kyle Uphoff of Bloomington; two grandchildren: Ethan and Alexander Uphoff; one brother: Gary (Karen) Uphoff of Donnelly; two sisters: Leona (Roger) Herberg of St. Peter and Bernice (Robert) Watzka of Princeton and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Arthur Uphoff and one nephew: Jon Uphoff.

Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
