Duane Bratton

Duane Jon “Tiny” Bratton, son of Ralph and Edna (Helgerson) Bratton, was born December 1, 1958 in Starbuck, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm near Cyrus and was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. Duane began his schooling in Cyrus, graduating from Cyrus High School in 1977. He continued his education at Willmar Technical College, receiving a degree in Agriculture Business. Following his schooling, Duane worked on the family farm and later worked at Berger Chevrolet for several years. Duane worked as a mechanic for a variety of area business’ and even operated his own mechanic business on the family farm. He worked until his poor health forced him to retire. Duane has made his home in Morris and Kensington.




Duane enjoyed fishing, listening to music, collecting various memorabilia and working as a mechanic. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends.




Duane died on Friday, October 30, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 50 years.




He is survived by four sons: William Bratton of Morris, Steven Bratton of Morris, Ethan Bratton of Big Lake and Joshua Bratton of Big Lake; his mother: Edna Bratton of Morris; three brothers: Danial Bratton, Wesley Bratton and Rodney (Ruth) Bratton all of Morris; two nieces; three nephews; one great-nephew and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father: Ralph Bratton.




Honorary pallbearers are: Brad Gahm, Scott Christians, Don Anspach and Peter Brandt. Cheryl Rempel will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
