Edward Koehntop

January 2, 1916 — May 24, 2007

Edward Clarence Koehntop, son of Carl and Augusta (Woodke) Koehntop, was born January 2, 1916 in Swan Lake Township in Stevens County, Minnesota, where he was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He grew up on the family farm and received his schooling at the country school in Swan Lake Township. Following his schooling he continued to farm on the family farm. On November 8, 1944, he was united in marriage to Lillian Amborn at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris. Following their marriage, the couple farmed and raised their three children on the farm they bought in Swan Lake Township. They retired in 1978 and moved into Morris, where they have continued to live until the time of Edward's death.





Edward was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morris and the Senior Citizens. He liked traveling, playing cards and fishing. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.





Edward died on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at West Wind Village in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 91 years.





He is survived by his wife Lillian Koehntop of Morris; two sons Douglas (Edla) Koehntop of Minneapolis and Bruce (Debra) Koehntop of Swan Lake Township; one daughter Jeanne (Paul) Foreman of Germantown, TN; eight grandchildren Krista (John) Johnson of New Brighton, Kevin (Bethany) Koehntop of La Jolla, CA, Erin Koehntop of Morris, Stacey (Jeremy) Kolden of Morris, Robyn Koehntop of Morris, Brandon Koehntop of Morris, Justin Foreman of Germantown, TN and Courtney Foreman of Germantown, TN; three great-grandchildren Cole and Lauren Johnson and Thea Kolden; and two sisters Lydia Olson of Detroit Lakes and Margaret Stevenson of Morris, IL. He was preceded in death by one grandson Jonathan Foreman; parents; eight brothers and three sisters.





Pallbearers for the service are: Kevin Koehntop, Justin Foreman, Maynard Keohntop, Darrell Koehntop, Randy Koehntop and Brandon Koehntop. Rita Lambert will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
