Edward Kurowski

Funeral services for Edward Kurowski of Morris, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, with Father Todd Schneider officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 and a rosary at 6:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Chokio, MN.

Edward John Kurowski, son of Joseph and Rose (Peka) Kurowski, was born June 25, 1927 in Pike Creek Township in Morrison County, Minnesota, where he attended country school. Following his schooling he worked in Rolfe and West Bend, Iowa. Ed was later drafted into the United States Army. Following his discharge, Ed worked in Hancock, Minnesota. In 1950, he bought a farm in Synnes Township in Stevens County. On December 28, 1952, he was united in marriage to Muriel Robertson in Clontarf. The couple made their home in Synnes Township, where they farmed until retiring in 1996. Ed and Muriel continued to live on the farm until Muriel died on June 16, 2002, when Ed moved to Morris. He has continued to live in Morris until the time of his death.

Ed was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. He enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting with his cousins.

Ed died on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Skyview Court in Morris, MN. He lived to 87 years.

He is survived by one brother: Ray (Florence) Kurowski of Bowlus; one sister: Jeanette (Gary) Garlock of Little Falls; one sister-in-law: Elizabeth Ritter of Chokio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents and two sisters: Carole Johnson and Louise Janski.
