Edward Mohrman

January 30, 1924 — May 29, 2006

Edward Benjamin Mohrman, son of Gust and Louise (Messner) Mohrman, was born January 30, 1924 in Lafayette, Minnesota. He grew up and received his schooling in the Morris and Gaylord areas. Following his schooling, he went to work on his Uncle George's farm in Winthrop, MN. On October 25, 1944, he was united in marriage to Darlene Christopherson. To this union four children were born. In the mid 1940's the couple moved to Morris, where Ed worked at Green's Mill. He also was employed at Schmidgall's Sand and Gravel, Morris Blacktop and Riley Brothers Construction. Ed retired in 1994 and continued to live in Morris. Darlene died on August 2, 1986. In 2004, Ed moved to Alexandria, where he has continued to live until the time of his death.



Ed enjoyed playing cards, going to go-cart races and attending his grandchildren's activities. He greatly missed driving his Big Blue Truck. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.



Ed died on Monday, May 29, 2006 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, having lived to reach the age of 82 years.



He is survived by one son: Roger (Marlene) Mohrman of Alexandria; three daughters: Diane (David) Martin of Alexandria, Debb (Joel) Boettcher of Morris and Cindy (Keith) Price of Garfield; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one brother: Arnold (Marty) Mohrman of Maynard; seven sisters: Margaret Kingren of Moorhead, Virginia (Harvey) Hahn of Winthrop, Louise (Marvin) Kiel of Marshall, Irene Alexander of Alexandria, Irma (Duane) Nelson of Tyler, Evelyn Zimmer of LeSeur and Marion Johnson of Minneota and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents and five brothers: Virgil, Curtis, Herbert, Harold and Lloyd.



Pallbearers for the service are Ed's grandsons and grandsons-in-law: Ryan Mohrman, Ben Martin, Dustin Price, Zachary Price, Scott Holman, Brian Gibson, Chris Phillips, Jason Olson and Matthew Schneider. Honorary pallbearers are: Noah Nohl, all of his grandchildren and "Tato". The Apostolic Christian Church Choir will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
