The memorial service for Edwin Manska of Morris will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Federated Church in Morris, with Reverend Lauren Snell officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the Summit Cemetery, Morris.
Edwin Eugene Manska, son of George P. and Lorraine (Staten) Manska was born on January 11, 1931 in Morris, Minnesota, where he grew up and attended school. After his schooling, Edwin began working for local contractors doing brick and stone work. He was united in marriage to Georgia Ann Smith on July 15, 1952 in Stevens County. The couple made their home in Morris, where Georgia worked as a nurse and Edwin in the masonry business. Over the years, Edwin built many beautiful fireplaces in area homes. In his later years, he worked as a carpenter alongside Kenneth Kill. Edwin never retired he just slowed down.
Edwin was a member of the Federated Church in Morris. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Family was very important to Edwin; he will always be remembered for doing anything he could to help out family and friends.
Edwin died on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at his home in Morris. He was 83 years old.
He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia, Morris; his daughter-in-law, Tami Manska, Alexandria; one brother, Carl "Pee-Wee" (Shirley) Manska, Benson; and many nieces and nephews. Edwin was preceded in death by his son, Eddy, his parents, three brothers, Clifford, Charles and George and four sisters, Esther, Clarabelle, Bertha and Grace.
