Eleanor Lee

December 15, 1910 — September 7, 2005

Eleanor Ruth Caroline (Pederson) Lee passed away peacefully in the Moorhead Healthcare Center. Eleanor was born to Carl and Margaret Pederson December 15, 1910. Eleanor was born in Glenwood, MN, and graduated with honors from Glenwood High School and went on to receive her teaching degree at Normal Training School. She taught for 8 years. She was united in marriage to Rudolph Lee in June of 1936. They farmed together in rural Starbuck for many years. She loved entertaining and cooking for friends and relatives, raising roses and African violets, stitching and making lots of lefse and other Norwegian foods. She loved her church and was an active member of Indherred Lutheran where she taught Sunday school, was active in her circle and other church activities. She also was a member of the Minnewaska Hosp. and Nursing Home Auxiliary, was a 4-H leader but most of all was always there for her children and grandchildren.



Eleanor enjoyed the many visits from friends and relatives and songs from members of Acappella Xpress Sweet Adelines, especially the many times "Fine Line Quartet" sang for her. She was grateful for the care from Moorhead Healthcare Center especially the visits, and hugs received from the nurses, CNA's, cooks, and Pete who came in to sing to her.



Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Margaret; husband, Rudolph; son, Karl; sisters, Alida Pederson, Blanche Rooney; brothers, Lester Peterson and Ernest Pederson and sister and brother-in-laws: Ruth and Peder Veum, Agnus and Elmer Einarson, Esther and Arthur Nordberg, Caroline and Julius Finstad and Oscar Lee.



Eleanor is survived by her son, Ronald (Marie) of RI; twin daughters, Karolyn Lee of Bloomington, MN and Kathryn Lee of Fargo, ND; grandsons, Jonathan (Leslie) Lee; and great grandson, Eriksen of RI, Christopher (Nora) Lee of CT; sisters, Helen Schluter of Glenwood, MN, Lorna Smedstad of Minneapolis, MN; and sister-in-law, Ruth Peterson of St. Louis Park, MN; stepsons, Jonathan (Jennifer) Bender of IL, Jeremy (Beth) Bender of NY, Joshua Bender; five step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.



Pallbearers for the service are: Robert Smedstad, Thomas Finstad, Curtis Nordberg, Roger Pederson, Dick Rooney, Richard Sisler, Keith Nygaard and Allan Nygaard. Honorary pallbearers are all of Eleanor?s nieces and nephews. Amy Rooney will serve as organist, Christopher Lee will serve as pianist and Nora Lee will serve as Violinist for the service. The Fine Line Quartet will provide special music for the service. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
