Evelyn Erickson

Evelyn Mabel Hansen, daughter of Toval and Christine (Johnson) Hansen, was born August 27, 1912 in Pepperton Township in Stevens County, Minnesota. When Evelyn was four years old, her family moved to Morris, where she began her schooling. Following her schooling, she continued to live in Morris and started working at Steel DeSota Produce. On January 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to John Erickson. The couple continued to live in Morris, where Evelyn worked as a housekeeper at the Merchants Hotel and LaGrande Hotel. John died on January 15, 1974. Evelyn continued to live in their home until 2009, when she moved into the West Wind Village , where she lived until the time of her death. Evelyn enjoyed gardens, flowers, dancing and spending time with her family.

Evelyn died on Monday, March 29, 2010 at West Wind Village in Morris , MN , having lived to reach the age of 97 years.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters: Margaret Morrison and Hazel Braaten; two half sisters: Edna Aanerud Day and Evangeline Foley Kill and one half brother: Harold Fredericksen.

Pallbearers for the service are: David Lubenow, Donald Kill, David Foley, Gary Foley, LeRoy Aanerud and Richard Foley. Honorary pallbearer: Jay Hilleren. Cheryl Rempel will serve as organist for the service with Jere Solvie serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
