Gerda Lampert

January 27, 1912 — September 30, 2006

Gerda Olive Sidenblad, daughter of Axel and Anna (Holm) Sidenblad, was born January 27, 1912 in Kingston Township in Meeker County, Minnesota. She attended and graduated from Morris High School. On December 28, 1932, she was united in marriage to Elmer Lampert by Father John Fearon. The couple farmed in Morris Township in Stevens County from 1932 to 1961. Elmer and Gerda owned and operated Tam O'Shanter Resort in Spring Lake, Minnesota and in the winter months, Gerda worked at Donaldson's Department Store in Minneapolis. The couple retired to Sand Lake, near Squaw Lake, MN. They moved to Grand Rapids in 1992, before moving back to Morris in June of 2003. Elmer died on December 17, 2003. Gerda has continued to live in Morris until the time of her death.



Gerda was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris; she was also a charter member of the Minnesota Flying Farmers and the National Flying Farmers. She was an excellent cook, serving many meals when they owned and operated the Tam O'Shanter Resort. Gerda especially enjoyed the motorcycle and airplane trips that she and Elmer took.



Gerda died on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at West Wind Village in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 94 years.



She is survived by two sons: Richard Lampert of West Virginia and John (Arlyn) Lampert of Chokio; one daughter: Kathleen (Walt) Fenning of St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two brothers: Kenneth Sidenblad of Bellville, TX and Frances Sidenblad of Burton, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter: Annette Lampert; her parents and four brothers: Carl, Raymond, Clifford and Donald Sidenblad.



Pallbearers for the service are: Dawn Olson, Mark Lampert, Phillip Lampert, David Lampert, Margaret Lavelle, Jim Fenning and Michelle Winkel. Honorary pallbearers are all of Gerda's great-grandchildren. Darlene Hennen will serve as pianist for the service with Holly Giese serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
