Helen Anna Neeseman, daughter of Harry and Henrietta (Krupke) Neeseman, was born December 6, 1914 in Moore Township, near Hancock, Minnesota. She grew up in Moore Township and began her education at rural school District #45, graduating from Hancock High School in 1932. On October 4, 1934, she was united in marriage to Harry W. Hoffman. The couple made their home in Moore Township where they farmed and raised their family. In 1982, they moved into Hancock, where they lived until 1997, at which time they moved into Morris. Harry died on April 22, 1998. Helen continued to live in Morris, and on December 4, 2001, she became a resident of the West Wind Village in Morris, where she lived until the time of her death.

Over the years, Helen had been active with the Lend A Hand Club, the Hancock Homemakers Club and her Birthday Club. She was also a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock, where she had been active in the Ladies Aid. Helen loved to garden, play cards, dance and sing.
