She was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church. During her senior year of high school, her family moved to a farm near Donnelly, MN. In 1998 they moved to Herman, MN.

Helen & Larry were a great team working together building & fixing things, keeping huge vegetable gardens and beautiful flower beds. They enjoyed planning parties and cooking for family gatherings. They were active in their church, serving in several capacities. Wedding gifts, birthday gifts, shower gifts, Christmas gifts were all hand made and treasured by family and friends. Helen had many hobbies-sewing, needlework, quilting, playing cards, gardening, cooking, reading, bible studies, painting and loved to sit around visiting with friends and family.
