Jiazhen Li

November 6, 1957 — August 21, 2008

Jiazhen Li, son of Zhonglie Li and Shuhui Yang, was born November 6, 1957 in Harbin, China, where he grew up and began his schooling. Following his graduation from high school, he continued his education at Heilongjiang University in Harbin, China. Jiazhen worked various jobs, being a school teacher, journalist, government officer and a writer. On June 25, 1994, he was united in marriage to Yuzhi Li in Harbin, China. Jiazhen and Yuzhi moved to Canada in 1996, where their Michael was born. Jiazhen moved his family to Morris in 2005, where they have continued to live until the time of his death. Jiazhen received his baptism in March, 2008 in Rochester, Minnesota.




Jiazhen enjoyed writing poems, singing and playing basketball and volleyball. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.




Jiazhen died on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at his home in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 50 years.




He is survived by his wife: Yuzhi Li of Morris; one son: Michael Li of Morris; nephew: Anqi Li of Beijing, China and four brothers and sisters: Jiayao Li of Beijing, China, Jiahau Li of Harbin, China, Li Liang of Harbin, China and Donghui Li of Harbin, China. He was preceded in death by his parents.




Pallbearers for the service are all who called Jiazhen friend. Cheryl Rempel will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
