Julette Banister

Funeral services for Julette Banister of Donnelly will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, rural Donnelly. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be held in the spring in Kongsvinger Lutheran Cemetery, rural Donnelly.

Julette Ardell Henrichs, daughter of John and Alma (Olson) Henrichs, was born July 20, 1931 in Rendsville Township in Stevens County, Minnesota. Julette was baptized on November 2, 1931 by Pastor Gustav A. Pilgrim and confirmed October 21, 1945 by Pastor Torgerson at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church in rural Donnelly. She grew up in Rendsville and Eldorado Townships in Stevens County, where she attended School District #7 and School District #61. On September 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ira "Bud" Banister by Reverend A. H. Sevig in Morris, Minnesota. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in the Donnelly area, where Julette and Bud raised their daughters.

Julette was a member of Kongsvinger Lutheran Church in rural Donnelly, where she was active with the KLCW. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, camping, swimming and drives in the country. Julette especially enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's school sporting events, wintering in Mission, Texas, trips to Mexico, shopping at flea markets and attending Country Music Jams.

Julette died on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Doctors Hospital at Renisance in Edinburg, Texas. She lived to reach the age of 79 years.

She is survived by two daughters: Diane (Glenn) Amundson of Donnelly and Debra (Robert) Touhey of Chaska; four grandchildren: Shelly (Brad) Wilkening who was like a daughter to Julette, Darren Schultz, Dawn (Mark) Eggers and Shane (Jackie) Touhey; 10 great-grandchildren: Josie and Jena Wilkening, Zachary and Nicholas Schwendeman, Brittney, Brianna, Amanda and Andrew Eggers, Lauren and Kendra Touhey; 3 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Lloyd Plocker of Morris; sisters-in-law: Shirley Henrichs of Donnelly, Arlene Henrichs of Hoffman, Hazel Olson of Chokio, Grace (Earl) Steuck of Chokio, Vivian Bjorlin of Chokio and Jeanette (Verdi) Schmitz of Chokio; two god children: Betty Werk and Keith Henrichs; many nieces and nephews and her precious poodle Penny. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers: Lawrence, Erwin, George, Stanley, Melvin, Marvin, and Kenneth Henrichs; sisters: Margaret Mau, Mayme Waller, Pearl I. Anderson and June Plocker; sisters-in-law: Clara Henrichs, Faith Henrichs, Beverly Henrichs and Verna Nilson and brothers-in-law: Wilmar Mau, Orville Waller, Albert T. Anderson, Russell Olson, Calvin Bjorlin and William Nilson.

Serving as pallbearers for the service are: Robert Touhey, Glenn Amundson, Darren Schultz, Shane Touhey, Brad Wilkening and Jason Armstrong. Sue Erdahl-Nelson will serve as organist for the service with the Kongsvinger Trio and Keith Henrichs providing special music. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
