Larry Nohl

December 7, 1944 — December 19, 2008

Larry Dean Nohl, son of Lawrence and Sophie (Banwart) Nohl, was born December 7, 1944 in Morris , Minnesota . He grew up on the family farm near Hancock, and began his education in the Hancock Public School . While helping with the family farm, he also completed his education at the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris. After graduating, Larry worked for a few years in the gravel business for Wayne Schmidgall. He later returned to farming after purchasing a farm in the Morris area. In August 1963, Larry was baptized into the Apostolic Christian Church, and since that time, the church has been central to Larry’s life. On March 29, 1970, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Moser. Following their marriage, the couple lived on the farm in the Morris area until September 2006, when they moved into Morris. Larry continued to be very active in the farming operations, along with his brother, Kenny, and his sons, Doug and Todd.

Larry always enjoyed farming, fishing and doing yardwork, gardening or anything else that allowed him to be outside. He also cherished the time he was able to spend surrounded by his family, especially his eight grandchildren. But more than anything else, Larry’s love for God always came first in his life.

Larry was surrounded by his family when his battle with A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) came to an end on December 19, 2008 at the Courage Cottage in Morris. He had lived to reach the age of 64 years.

He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Nohl of Morris; three children: Doug (Amber) Nohl of Morris, Sheila (Greg) Reuter of Morris and Todd (Jamie) Nohl of Hancock; his daughter-in-law: Kristi Nohl of Morris; eight grandchildren: Ted Nohl, Staci Nohl, Jerry Nohl Jr., Crystal Nohl, Lewis Nohl, Archie Nohl, Allison Nohl and Emerson Reuter; his mother: Sophie Nohl of Hancock; two sisters: Ruth Nohl and Lynda Nohl of Hancock; one brother: Kenneth (Jackie) Nohl of Hancock and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son: Jerry Nohl and his father: Lawrence Nohl.
