Lillian Koehl

Lillian Mae Kempf, daughter of Ned and Ollie (Fehr) Kempf, was born May 24, 1920, in Roanoke, Illinois. She grew up and received her education at a country school in the Eureka, IL area. On May 24, 1942, she was united in marriage to Edward H. Koehl in Roanoke, Illinois. Following their marriage, the couple moved to the Hancock, MN area, where they farmed until 1945. At that time, they moved to Eureka, Illinois, where they owned and operated a farm implement business until 1958. They moved back to Minnesota, where they lived and farmed in the Hancock area. Along with farming, they also owned and operated Koehl Sales and Service Implement business in Morris. In 1973, they sold the implement business, but continued to farm. Lillian and Edward moved into Hancock in 1980, but continued to be active with the family farm. Edward died on March 26, 1983. Lillian has continued to live in her home in Hancock until the time of her death.

Lillian was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and sharing her produce with everyone; fishing; being with family and friends; making meals and having people over to enjoy them. She was always happiest when she could be busy helping others.

Lillian died on Monday, September 10, 2007 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 87 years.

She is survived by one son: Karl (Marilyn) Koehl of Hancock; three daughters: Norene (Howie) Pergament of Eugene, OR, Rita (Gary) Rose of Glenwood and Doris (Kenny) Agans of Peoria, IL; 12 grandchildren: Peter (Cristee) Pergament, Rose Pergament, Kristi (Quinn) Messner, Thomas (Trish) Koehl, Matthew (Katie) Koehl, Blaine Koehl, Kari Koehl, Reid (Tiffany) Rose, Amy (Rick) Millard, Brody Rose, Manirah Agans and Erika Agans; 10 great-grandchildren: Skyler Pergament, Dawn Messner, Brandi Messner, Trent Messner, Troy Messner, Blake Koehl, Micah Koehl, Jenna Koehl, Austin Millard and Ben Millard and one sister: Norene Moser of Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter: Shirley Koehl; one grandson: Chad Agans; one sister: Laydene Hinrichsen and one brother: Ervin Kempf.

Pallbearers for the service are Lillian's grandsons: Tom Koehl, Reid Rose, Matt Koehl, Blaine Koehl, Peter Pergament and Brody Rose. The Apostolic Christian Church Choir will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
