Linda Greiner

January 12, 1922 — January 17, 2008

Linda L. Braker Greiner, was born January 12, 1922 in Horton Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Joe and Ida (Moser) Braker. She was called from this life on Thursday morning January 17, 2008. She had attained the age of 86 years and four days.



Linda grew up and attended District #41 School through the 8th grade. After school, she worked several jobs, including for the Stevens County Sheriff.



On November 21, 1940, she was united in marriage to Elmer J. Greiner in Morris, MN by the Reverend H. M. Allison. To this union two children, LeRoy and Constance were born. Linda and Elmer were able to share almost 53 wonderful years of marriage.



The couple purchased a farm in Horton Township in Stevens County, where they lived and farmed until 1976. They built a home in Hancock and Linda continued to work at Fingerhut in Benson until 1977. She was then employed by Prairie Land Management. She worked as a housekeeper at the Villa, private family homes in the area, then at Williams Home in Hancock. She retired at the age of 82. Her coworkers referred to her as "Mrs. Clean's". After her retirement, she enjoyed landscaping and caring for her home. She loved to cook for her family and visit with family, friends and grandchildren and watching the birds.



Linda was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church of Hancock, being baptized into the Lutheran Faith on May 30, 1993, by the Reverend Peter Narum.



Linda is mourned in passing by her children: LeRoy (Karen) Greiner of Morton, IL and Constance (Lanny) Beyer of Hancock; three grandchildren: Mike (Sheri) Greiner of Lincoln, IL, Jennifer Greiner (fiancAC.: Patrick) of Kolona, IA and Lori Greiner (fiancAC.: James) of Spring Hill, TN; three great-grandchildren: Ashley Reese and Levi and Chloe Greiner; one sister: Emma (Chris) Knapp of Morton, IL and one brother: Bud (Shirley) Braker of Morton, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters: Marie Rose and one brother: Jerry.



Pallbearers for the service are Mike Greiner, Tom Mohr, Gary Greiner, Jon Wiese, Brad Braker and Roland Greiner. Lois Bell will serve as organist for the service with Lori Joos serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
