Luther Steen

January 30, 1932 — January 31, 2009

Luther Virgil Steen, son of Ole and Clara (Steen) Steen, was born January 30, 1932 in Hancock, Minnesota, where he grew up and received his education. He was confirmed into the Christian Faith at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Hancock. Following his schooling, he worked as a painter by trade, working for Jerry Anderson of Morris. Luther was a member of Minnewaska Lutheran Church in Starbuck, before moving to the Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood on July 25, 2005. While living there, he enjoyed word search books and doing crossword puzzles. Luther was very proud of himself for participating in the Best Age Fitness Program and using the cardio bike. He also enjoyed playing dice with his tablemates in the dining room.




Luther died on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 77 years.




He is survived by one brother: Frank Steen of Shoreview and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Eugene Steen and one sister: Virginia Rodahl.




Rita Lambert will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
