Mae Anderson

August 4, 1924 — August 13, 2010

Mae Dorothy Sperr, daughter of John and Lena (Willie) Sperr, was born August 4, 1924 on the family farm near Donnelly, where she grew up and attended rural schools in the area. On September 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to Raymond Anderson. Following their marriage, the couple lived west of Donnelly, where they farmed and raised livestock. Mae and Ray operated the farming operation side by side, and Mae was known to work just as hard on the farm as she did in the house. She also dedicated a lot of time to raising her children and devoted her entire life to giving special care to her daughter, Sherry. Ray died on February 14, 1990. Mae continued to live on the farm following his death, where she remained through her 84 th birthday. In December of 2008, Mae moved into the West Wind Village in Morris, where she continued to live until the time of her death.

Mae was a member of First Lutheran Church in Morris, where she was active with Care Core, Choir and various service groups. She was very active with ARC and was involved in the fundraising for the Stevens County DAC building project. While living on the farm Mae loved spending time in her garden and orchard. Even though Mae was always busy and on the go, she always made time for her favorite hobby, being with her grandchildren.
