Martha Erdahl

Martha Jacobina Lee, daughter of Theodore and Emma (Gusdal) Lee, was born January 25, 1915 in Erickson, Manitoba. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Danvers, Manitoba. On September 30, 1939, she was united in marriage to Clarence Erdahl of Donnelly, Minnesota. Martha and Clarence farmed west of Donnelly for almost 50 years.
Martha was a member of Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, rural Donnelly, where in previous years she was active with the Sunday School Program and various women's organizations. Martha enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, reading and jigsaw puzzles. She spent many enjoyable evenings with her friends at the Heritage Apartments in Morris.
Martha died on Monday, December 3, 2007 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 92 years.
She is survived by: one daughter: Sharon Schonteich of Broomfield, CO; one grandson: Eric Schonteich of Denver, CO; one granddaughter: Jill Schonteich of Denver, CO; one sister: Thelma (George) Doan of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada; three sisters-in-law: Bernice Erdahl of Morris, Harriet Lee of Erickson, Manitoba and Gwen Lee of Salt Spring Island, British Columbia and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law: Kim Schonteich; her parents; five brothers and one sister.
Honorary pallbearers are: Eric Schonteich, Barry Erdahl, Dennis Doan, Jim Bridger, Brian Erdahl, Josh Erdahl, Aaron Erdahl. Sue Erdahl-Nelson will serve as organist for the service with the Kongsvinger Trio providing special music. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
