Mavis McNichols

June 2, 1920 — May 25, 2007

Mavis Elaine Nesson McNichols was born June 2, 1929 in Brookings, South Dakota to Shelby and Gladys (Watson) Nesson. She graduated from Huron High School and Huron Business College. She married Dale McNichols on November 9, 1941 in Huron, South Dakota. In 1955, they moved to Morris, where they owned and operated Habichts Department Store until retirement in 1983.





Mavis was a member of the Federated Church in Morris, the Federated Church Quilters and the Eastern Star.





Mavis died on Friday, Saturday 25,2 007 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 86 years.





She is survived by three children: Larry McNichols (Margie Jackson) of Elk River, Lexy (Jon) Croom of Montevideo and Jim McNichols (Brenda Kamstra) of Willmar; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; one brother and one sister.





Pallbearers for the service are: Mike McNichols, Dave Croom, Eddie Arndorfer, Ben McNichols, Kevin Sich and Nathaniel McNichols. Cheryl Rempel will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
