Maxine Blasing

October 1, 1926 — June 17, 2010

Maxine (Tootie) Dayle Blasing was born on October 1, 1926 in Hancock, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Matilda (Hendrickson) Suhrbier. Maxine grew up in Hancock and was an active member of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church. Maxine attended Hancock School and graduated in 1944. On October 31, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harold Blasing. The couple continued to live in Hancock, and had two daughters. Maxine worked for 46 years at a Drugstore in Hancock then Morris.




Maxine enjoyed hockey as well as Minnesota Twins baseball games. She loved to dance and have fun. Maxine served on numerous committees at Our Redeemers and VFW Auxiliary. She loved to spend time with her family




Maxine passed away on Thursday June 17, 2010 at Bethesda Heritage Nursing Home in Willmar, having lived to reach the age of 83 years. She is survived by her two daughters: Candy (Rick) Smith of Willmar and Jacki (Steven) Burmeister of North St. Paul; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.




She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Harold, two brothers: Ray and Glen and two sisters: Vi and Evelyn. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.




Pallbearers for the service are: Mark Holleman, John Schmidgall, Mike Olson, Gary Greiner, Dennis Schroeder, Craig Swenson and Carter Swenson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are: Cory Schroeder, Zip Bell and Frank “Junior” Weise.  Sandy Pahl will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of arrangements.




In Lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to Hospice or Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Hancock.
