Norman Wink

August 6, 1927 — November 2, 2006

Norman Louis Wink, son of Aloysius and Genevieve (Sautzer) Wink, was born August 6, 1927 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, where he began his schooling. When he was 14, he moved to Hancock. November 27, 1945, Nubs enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in WWII. He was stationed in Germany and Austria as a Military Police for prisoners. He received an honorable discharge in 1947. Following his discharge he returned to Hancock. On September 16, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lila Keuhn at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Hancock. The couple made their home in Hancock where they raised their seven children. Nub's was employed at the Hancock School as the school custodian for 35 years. He retired ten years ago.

Nub's was a member of First Congregational United Church in Hancock. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, mug collecting, going for drives in the country and watching the Minnesota Twins. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends.

Nub's died on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at SCMC in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 79 years.

He is survived by: his wife: Lila Wink of Hancock; five children: Thomas Wink of Eden Valley, Colleen (Ron) Sulier of Halstead, KS, Steven (Sherry) Wink of Aitkin, Greg Wink of Hancock and Bryan (Kim) Wink of Alexandria; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother: Genevieve Wink Schaefer of St. Cloud; four brothers & sisters: Donna Pfannenstien of Glen Burnie, MD, Norma Hartman of St. Cloud, Eugene Wink of Kalispell, MT and Carol Gross of St. Cloud. He was preceded in death by two children: Lynda Solomon and Dean Wink; his father and two brothers: John Wink and infant, Charles Wink.

Pallbearers for the service are Nub's grandsons: Shawn Wink, Luke Wink, Benjamin Wink, Andrew Sulier, Tony Solomon, Nathan Solomon and Jeremy Wink. Honorary pallbearers are Nub's granddaughters: Carla Damm, Andrea Solomon Bohlig, Grace Wink and Brittany Wink. Carol Evink will serve as organist for the service with Roger Blair serving as soloist.
