Ralph Mohr

September 28, 1913 — January 12, 2007

Ralph Ernest Mohr, son of Robert H. & Elsie (Schleuter) Mohr, was born September 28, 1913 in Horton Township, Stevens County, Minnesota. He attended school through the 8th grade at the District #20 School in Horton Township. After his schooling, he began working on the family farm with his father. On October 9, 1935, Ralph was united in marriage to Lydia Marie Greiner. The couple made their home in the Hancock area, where Ralph continued to farm a few years. To this union, six children were born: Ralph, Ronald, Jean Anne, Lois, Mary and Gerald. Ralph later became custodian at the school, where he worked until his retirement in 1979. We all know how much time and pride was spent on those shining floors at the Hancock Public School. All that extra time spent around the school was perfect for Ralph, though, as he loved to give the kids a bad time.

Lydia passed away on February 10, 1975, after which, Ralph continued to live in Hancock. Most recently, he has resided at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.

Some of Ralph's favorite things to do included fishing, hunting, playing cards and playing baseball. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family.

Ralph died on Friday, January 12, 2007 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, having lived to reach the age of 93 years.

He is survived by five children: Ralph "Tom" (Elaine) Mohr of Hancock, Ronald (Sharyn) Mohr of Lakeville, Lois (Howard) Person of Brainerd, Mary Conroy of Apple Valley and Gerald "Scott" (Kathy) Mohr of Surprise, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister: Margaret Siebrecht of Morris; two brothers: Lloyd Mohr of Hancock and Walter (Pam) Mohr of Sierra Vista, AZ and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; one infant daughter, Jean Anne; his parents; one sister: Bernice Fluegel and three brothers: Robert, John & Lyle Mohr.
