Ray Cook

May 12, 1919 — November 2, 2005

Ray Henry Cook was born in Synnes Township, Stevens County on May 12, 1919 to Earl and Lillian (Isherwood) Cook. They moved to Scott Township in 1925. Ray attended school in Alberta and graduated in 1938.



Ray was a man of faith and long time member of the Chokio Methodist Church. As a young man, he was counselor for the MYF and was a Boy Scout leader. He was a Farm Bureau member and also a member of the Men's Club in Pepperton, which hosted a soup supper each year. His nephews and nieces enjoyed their trips to see the Twins play, a special treat from Ray. He will be remembered for his generosity to friends, family and the community.



Ray farmed in Scott Township until his retirement. Ray had a large flower and vegetable garden that he enjoyed sharing with others. He was a hard worker but took the time to enjoy traveling.



Ray died on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, having lived to reach the age of 86 years.



He is survived by: four sisters: Eva (Jack) Jones of St. Cloud, Hazel Fynboh of Alberta, Lucile Cin of Alberta and Dorothy (Carrol) Amundson of Prior Lake; sister-in-law: Laurine Cook of Morris and 27 nieces and nephews: Ellen Klang, Ralph (Barbara) Cook, Terry (Karen) Cook, Laurie (Kenny) Kaehler, Linda Cook, Tom (Diana) Cook, Patricia (Steve) Storck, Larry Fynboh, Susan (John) Roise, Shelley Scharping, Sheila (James) Frantz, Lowell (Jen) Cin, Sally Cin, Layne Cin, Robin (Brad) Holmgren, Wendy Amundson, Jay (Terra) Amundson, Sue Amundson (David Largaespada) and Jill (Gerry) Winter. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Paul and his wife, Kathryn and Robert Cook; two sisters: Ruth and Helen and one niece: Donna Cook Sheets
