Ruby Hamilton

February 3, 1920 — July 27, 2005

Ruby Amelia Thieman, daughter of Julius and Ida (Shauer) Thieman, was born February 3, 1920 in Swan Lake Township in Stevens County, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended Swan Lake Rural School. She continued her education at the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris. Following her schooling, she was united in marriage to Carl Koehntop. On January 6, 1947, she was united with Albert Hamilton. To this union two children were born. Ruby lived on East 7th Street for 50 years. In February 1999, she moved to the West Wind Village, where she lived until the time of her death.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking (hired by the banks to serve during holiday time), fly tying (some commercially), fishing, spending time with family and friends, giving oral histories to students of all ages, tailoring for the various men?s stores in Morris and working at the country club.

Ruby died on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the West Wind Village in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 85 years.

She is survived by one daughter: Sharon (Kim) Hawley of Adrian, MI; one son: Les (Lynn) Hamilton of Highland Village, TX; four grandsons: Addam (Loree) Hamilton of Louisville, TX, Aaron (Grace) Hamilton of Corinth, TX, Chad (Kristi) Hawley of Grapevine, TX and Eric (Tara) Hawley of Ann Arbor, MI and six great-grandchildren: Zach, Nathan, Brock, Bailey, Lauren and Emily. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband: Carl Koehntop and 2nd husband: Albert Hamilton.

Pallbearers for the service are Tim Esterling, Bob Ritzschke, Myron Syverson and Kenneth Van Horn. Chris Hopkins will serve as organist for the service with Shirley Schliep serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.

In Lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the West Wind Village in Morris, MN.
