Stanley Koehntop

Stanley Daniel Koehntop, son of August and Elma (Krogen) Koehntop, was born July 22, 1936 in Morris, Minnesota. He grew up in the Donnelly area and began his schooling at Country School District #36. He continued his education at the West Central School of Agriculture for two years. Following his schooling, Stanley worked as a farm hand for many area farmers before farming with his father. On September 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Lois Henrichs. To this union three children were born. Following their marriage, the couple began farming in Rendsville Township in Stevens County. Stanley continued to farm until July of 2005, when he became ill.



Stanley enjoyed farming, working on machinery, often his own and he also liked to drive around and check the crops. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.



Stanley passed away on October 29, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN, having lived to reach the age of 70 years.



He is survived by: his wife: Lois Koehntop of Donnelly; two sons: Dan (Jeanne) Koehntop of Donnelly and Jerry Koehntop of Donnelly; one daughter: Shelley (Jesse) George of St. Cloud; five grandchildren: Tiffany (Justin) Thorstad of Green Isle, Kristi Koehntop of Lamberton, Justin Koehntop of Chokio, Kelsi George of St. Cloud and Katie George of St. Cloud; one sister: Sylvia (Arnold) Graff of Deerwood and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece: Sherry Hanson.



Pallbearers for the service are: Allen Graff, Darrel Koehntop, Maynard Koehntop, John Kleinhans, Erwin Henrichs, Jr and Randy Koehntop. Bonnie Gulbrandson will serve as organist, Sue Erdahl-Nelson will serve as pianist and the Kongsvinger Trio and Lisa Henrichs will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
