Thomas Hanrahan

Thomas William Hanrahan, son of Richard and Joan (Lesmeister) Hanrahan, was born June 7, 1964 in St. Paul , Minnesota . Tom came into Richard and Joan’s hearts on the day of his baptism, June 15, 1964. He grew up on the family farm near Morris and was confirmed in March of 1978 at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Tom attended and graduated from Chokio-Alberta High School in 1982. Following his schooling, Tom lived and worked various jobs in Minneapolis . Tom was a very social person and loved meeting new people. He was very artistic and had a kind and gentle heart. He was so very proud of being sober for one year and was working hard on his sobriety and making a new life for himself. Tom was seeking God in his sobriety and now has found him and is free from the pain and finally is at peace.

God had his own plans for Tom and took him from this earthly life into a new and eternal life on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his home in Minneapolis , Minnesota . He lived to reach the age of 45 years.

He is survived by his parents: Richard and Joan Hanrahan; siblings: Scott Hanrahan of Morris, Lori Carey of Bloomington, David Hanrahan of New York, NY and Mary Hanrahan (Tim Thoreen) of St. Paul; nephews: Connor Carey and Owen Carey; niece: Ida Thoreen; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends in Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: William and Helen Hanrahan and Zeno and Ida Lesmeister and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Deb Mahoney will serve as organist for the service with Ken Hodgson serving as song leader. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
