Thomas Ritter

Thomas Jerome Ritter, son of Fabian and Elizabeth (Robertson) Ritter, was born November 28, 1954 in Morris , Minnesota . He was baptized on December 5, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chokio by Father Hahn, and was also later confirmed at St. Mary’s. Tom grew up on a farm south of Chokio, and began his schooling at the Chokio Public School . He later attended Chokio/Alberta High School, graduating on May 20, 1973.

After his graduation, Tom worked at different farm jobs in the Chokio and Alberta area. When he wasn’t working, Tom’s favorite past time was to get out fishing and hunting. Tom will truly be missed by all those who loved him, especially his son, Jerome.

Tom died on February 12, 2010 at his home near Alberta . He had lived to reach the age of 55 years.

He is survived by his son, Jerome Ritter of Alexandria; his mother, Liz Ritter of Chokio; four sisters: Joan Michaelson of Morris, Sandy (Don) Wienhold of Long Prairie, Jayne (Lowell) Hacker of Hancock and Micki Ritter of Cambridge, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Fabian Ritter; three sisters: Peggy, Geri and Lynn Ritter and one brother-in-law: Gary Michaelson.

Jerome Ritter will serve as urn bearer for the service. Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Joan Michaelson, Sandy Wienhold, Jayne Hacker, Micki Ritter, Steve Brandt, Dave Hagen, Layne Cin and all of Tom’s nieces and nephews.
