Visitation for Donna Ehrp of Morris, MN will be Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Burial will be at a later date at Clinton City Cemetery in Clinton, MN.
Donna Eileen (Blood) Ehrp was born in Swanville, Minnesota to James and Arlene (Smestad) Blood on September 23, 1934. She was baptized as a baby in Swanville. She moved with her family to a farm west of Clinton, MN. Donna attended School District #6, before moving into Clinton at the age of 13. She began her long working years at the theater in Clinton and held numerous other jobs during her lifetime. She was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith, where she met the love of her life, Gale Ehrp.
Gale and Donna were united in marriage on June 11, 1951 at St. Pauli Lutheran Church South of Clinton. They were blessed with four children, Roxann, William, Rod and Rick. Roxann passed away shortly after birth and Bill passed away on July 26, 1971, while serving in the United States Army. Gale and Donna celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2001. They were blessed to have over 53 years together before she lost her beloved Gale in 2005.
Donna and Gale started a heavy equipment business, Gale Ehrp Construction, south of Chokio. A highlight of her working years were spent working alongside Gale as she was a push cat dozer operator, used in loading scrapers for the business.
Donna enjoyed all kinds of puzzles and there wasn’t a game of solitaire she didn’t know how to play. We liked to get her feisty spirit going by telling her she was cheating as she didn’t always use a full deck of cards and very seldom lost at cards when playing by herself. She also thoroughly enjoyed music and bingo, but her most cherished past time was the time she got to spend with her family. Donna was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Chokio and a Gold Star Mother for almost 35 years through the Morris American Legion Auxiliary Post #29.
Donna passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN. She was 84 years old.
Left behind to cherish this beautiful soul are her sons: Rod (Roxanne) Ehrp and Rick Ehrp (Lois Tatge) all of Chokio; grandchildren: Jeremy (Jen) Ehrp, Candee (Ken) Tracy, Jessica Sievert, Rebecca (Matt) Young, Stacy (Jeremy) Anderson, Jennifer (Blake) Hengtgen and Wyatt Ehrp; 15 great-grandchildren and her sister and best friend in the world, Leone Folkens. Donna was welcomed into her heavenly home by her husband, Gale; son, William; daughter, Roxann; her parents, James and Arlene and her brother: Leland.
