Mary Lou Hallauer

January 8, 1957 ~ February 4, 2018 (age 61)

Mary Lou Hallauer of Willmar, MN was born to Elton and Doris (Just) Hallauer in Morris, MN on January 8, 1957 and was baptized by her father on January 27, 1957 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hancock, MN. She was confirmed on May 30, 1971 at Bethel Lutheran Church, Hancock, MN, also by her father.

Mary received her elementary education at Hancock Public School. She attended high school at Immanuel Lutheran High School, Eau Claire, WI, graduating on May 23, 1975.  She continued her education at Alexandria Technical College, graduating on May 27, 1977.   She spent her entire working career with the Internal Revenue Service in Willmar, MN, retiring in 2012.

She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Morris, MN serving as organist for over 40 years.  She enjoyed biking around the state of Minnesota with her sisters, was an avid Minnesota sports teams enthusiast and cherished spending time with family and friends.  She enjoyed traveling and visiting wineries.  Her idea of paradise was being on the water in Minnesota in the summer.

Mary passed away on February 4, 2018 of ovarian cancer, having reached the age of 61 years, 27 days.

She is survived by her parents, her sisters: Barbara Breth, Eagan; Janice (Barry) Davis, Spring Lake Park; Karen (David) Johannes, Eau Claire, WI; Linda Hallauer, So. St. Paul; Sandra (Kevin) Hulke, Eau Claire, WI; and Deborah (Gary) Pansch, Harwood ND;  sixteen nieces and nephews and fourteen great nieces and  great nephews, her church family and many friends.

Her victory service will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 2:00 PM at Bethel Lutheran Church, 22 Brook St, Morris, MN with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Her cremated remains will be buried at a later date at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown, SD.

Memorials are preferred to the Student Aid Fund at Immanuel Lutheran College, 501 Grover Rd, Eau Claire, WI  54701.
