Funeral services for Amanda Moen Lee of Morris, MN will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris, with Reverend Andrew Hermodson-Olsen and Reverend Wayne Kopitzke officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a time of sharing at 7:00 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery in Glenwood.
Amanda Jean Lee, daughter of Roger and Carol (Jorgenson) Moen, was born on March 13, 1984 in Glenwood, MN. She was baptized on April 29, 1984 and confirmed on April 24, 1999 at Glenwood Lutheran Church. Amanda grew up in Glenwood and graduated from Minnewaska Area High School in 2002. After high school she continued her education at Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN. She then attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science. After finishing her internship in Minneapolis, Amanda moved to Ortonville, MN in 2008 where she began her career with Larson Funeral Home. Amanda was united in marriage to Christopher Lee on April 11, 2011 and on October 22, 2011, their daughter, Lauren Jean Lee, was born. They then moved to Pipestone, MN where Amanda continued her career with Hartquist Funeral Home. Amanda and Chris later divorced. Amanda and Lauren then moved to Morris, MN in December 2017 to be closer to home. She joined the staff of Pedersen and Starbuck Funeral Home in Morris, MN and had worked there until her death. Amanda’s professionalism and empathy provided comfort and guidance to countless families during their time of loss.
Amanda was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morris, MN where she served on various committees. She was also very active in the Morris Area Scholarship Program.
Amanda enjoyed traveling to many different places. She and Lauren went on many vacations and almost always took her parents along for the adventure. Amanda was always ready to plan the next trip. She loved shopping, getting pedicures, riding bike, floating in her backyard pool, watching true crime documentaries, going to the casino, and her boxer Jack. Amanda loved getting together with her loved ones celebrating anything and everything. Her most cherished moments were spending time with her family and friends. Nothing, however, compares to the love she had for her daughter. Lauren was the center of Amanda’s world; their bond was unbreakable and she poured all of her love and energy into being the best mom she could be.
Amanda passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home in Morris, MN following her seven year battle with breast cancer. She was 41 years old.
Amanda is survived by her daughter, Lauren Jean Lee of Morris; her parents Roger and Carol Moen of Glenwood, sisters Amber (Travis) Zemke of Baudette and Tracy (Logan) Dove of Dawson. Nieces and Nephews: Brady and Cale Zemke of Baudette, Cadence Dove of St. Paul, and Triton and Piper Dove of Dawson. Special friends Rick and Whitney Millard. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
Amanda is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Tilfred and Arlene Moen; maternal grandparents, LuVerne and Marge Jorgenson. Cousins: Dane Magaard, Jodie Moen, and Nikki Dropik Meyers.
