Arlene Henrichs

A Celebration of Life for Arlene Henrichs of Hoffman, MN will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.   Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.   Interment will be in Summit Cemetery, Morris, MN. 

Arlene F. Henrichs was born September 9, 1937, at the Morris Hospital, in Morris, MN to William L. and Dorothy M. (Lemmerman) Sternhagen.  She was joined in marriage to Kenneth “Kenny” Henrichs November 30, 1957 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman, MN.  Together they lived in the Hoffman area their entire married life.  Arlene continued to live in Hoffman, MN until last fall when she moved to Rolling Hills Residence in Barrett, MN. 

Arlene grew up around farming as her parents farmed in the Alberta, Chokio and Donnelly areas.  Later the family moved to a farm on Red Rock Lake near Hoffman.  Arlene graduated from Hoffman High School 1955.  In Arlene’s younger years she was a switchboard operator in Hoffman.  After getting married, Arlene and Kenny built a new house on a farm near Hoffman.  In past years they raised chickens, sold eggs and ran their dairy operation.  Arlene and Kenny farmed until retirement in the late 1990s. 

Arlene was baptized January 18, 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alberta, MN.  Arlene received Christ as her personal Savior on May 24, 1948.  Arlene was confirmed May 27, 1951.  Throughout her life, Arlene had a strong faith in the Lord.  Arlene was a long-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman, MN where she participated in many church activities and events over the years.  Arlene enjoyed the fellowship of her church family.

Arlene loved God, her family, friends and farm life.  Arlene enjoyed polka and waltz dancing and listening to country music.  Arlene had countless meals with friends and family at the Dew Drop Inn.  Arlene liked game shows and was a Minnesota Twins fan.  Arlene and Kenny always looked forward to the Hoffman Harvest Festival each year.

Arlene died Thursday May 4, 2023 at Rolling Hills Residence in Barrett, MN at the age of 85.

She leaves behind sister-in-law, Marlys (Mike) Kniss of Alexandria, MN; nephew, Dean (Bonnie) Sternhagen of Barrett, MN; niece, Kim (Joel) Block of Plymouth, MN; nephew, Steve Sternhagen of Mounds View, MN; her husband Kenny’s numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families.   Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth “Kenny” Henrichs; her parents, William Sternhagen and Dorothy Sternhagen; brother, Duane Sternhagen, sister, Dorothy “Dots” Sternhagen; brother, Deryl Sternhagen; sister-in-law, Angela Sternhagen; all of husband Kenny’s brothers and sisters.

Arrangements are with Pedersen Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Morris.
