Dolora Murlaine Moline, daughter of Walter and Dena Moline, was born June 30,1935, in Benson, MN. She was baptized at Six Mile Grove Church, confirmed at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, and graduated from Benson High School in 1953.

Shortly after high school Dolora met her soulmate, Alan Hendrickson of Hancock, at a dance in Clontarf. The couple were married September 2, 1956, and they set out together looking for a place where Alan could use his newly acquired teaching license from Moorhead State University. Their path took them to Forman, ND; Herman, MN; and Appleton, MN before finding their true home in Morris in 1966 where they raised, taught, supported, encouraged, cheered on, coached, and passed on a love of family, faith, community, sports, fishing, cards, and more to their five beloved children: JoAnn, Jody, John, Mike, and Mark.

Dolora (Do, Do-bird) found her purpose in life as a wife and mother. Dolora was a master at managing a household and schedules for 7 busy people and she was on the go from early morning to end of day cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, doing laundry, running errands, and going to all her family’s games and activities. She was an especially big wrestling fan and loved to watch John, Mike, and Mark compete with JoAnn and Jody on the cheerleading squad while Alan coached. It was rare to be in their home and see Dolora without a dishcloth in her hand wiping this and that – she was a firm believer in keeping things clean and tidy. Her work wasn’t done until the last family member was home and she could make sure their shoes were clean and ready for the next day.

Dolora dearly loved her grandchildren and they loved Grandma-Do. They all have their own special memories and stories about her but many include her fun-loving personality, Farkel, the card game Golf, walks downtown, how they played with her beautifully permed hair as there was always a pick near by, and witnessing that famous tongue that she might stick out somewhere in the conversation. And they all got a call on every birthday, making them feel special and loved.

Dolora enjoyed participating in church activities and was very involved in her Circle Group at Faith Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed playing bridge, coffee parties with friends, Morris High School faculty gatherings, and spending time at Moose Lake – a piece of property Alan and Dolora bought in 1976 along with four other teachers and their wives. For over 40 years it was and still is a special place where family and friends get together to fish, swim, play cards, and talk and laugh around the fire.

In Dolora’s retirement years, she could be seen biking around the neighborhood on her banana seat bike, walking at the RFC with Alan, and watching the Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves.

After Alan’s death, Dolora sold the family home and moved to West Central Homes in Morris for five years. In 2023 she moved to the Legacy Assisted Living facility where she stayed until her death. Dolora had a spunky personality and dry wit that drew people to her. She had many friends and was loved by all who knew her.

Dolora entered her heavenly home on January 24, 2026, at the age of 90. She passed away with her family around her. Dolora leaves behind her children: JoAnn (Kevin) Rocheleau of St. Joseph, MN, Jody (Jeff Hoff) Southerling of Punta Gorda, FL, John (Jeanne) Hendrickson of Esko, MN, Michael (Allison) Hendrickson of Little Falls, MN, and Mark (Dawn) Hendrickson of Chaska, MN; 13 grandchildren: Aaron (Kathleen), Bryan, Christopher, Dustin, Samantha (Aaron), Megan (Tom), Rachel (Alex), Joe, Mattia (Zean), Kendal (Keaton), Morgan (Luke), Seth, and Kayla; 13 great-grandchildren: Kiara, Luka, Micah, Mason, Harper, Sebastian, Sawyer, Poppy, Maisie, Niahm, Stella, Silas, and Emerson; sister-in-law Joyce Moline; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Alan in 2017; son-in-law David Southerling; parents Dena and Walter Moline; siblings Evelyn, Olive, Warren, Eunice, Hazel, Virginia, Ralph, and Audrey; parents-in-law Tilford and Ida Hendrickson; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.

Her children take solace knowing that she is once again with her beloved Alan in heaven – she dearly missed him for the past eight and a half years which was way too long for them to be apart.

The family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers. We would also like to thank the staff at Legacy Assisted Living, Vive Hospice, and Moments Hospice for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to a charity of your choice in Dolora’s name.
