Donald Quandt

A Memorial Service for Donald D. Quandt, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Federated Church in Morris with Reverend Matthew Orendorff officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, August 8th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and will continue at church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Donald Drew Quandt, Jr. was born on June 11, 1958 in Appleton, Minnesota the son of Donald and Verna (Munsterman) Quandt, Sr. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Holloway on June 19, 1958 and confirmed at the same church in 1973. He attended school in Appleton and participated in wrestling. He is a 1976 graduate of Appleton High School.

On September 14, 1991, Donald married Dianne Rose Peterson at Federated Church in Morris. The couple made their home in Morris and had a son, Drew.

Donald worked at American Continental in Willmar, Pamida in Morris and managed the Cenex South Store in Morris. He enjoyed his work at Cenex and the regular customers, but also embraced his solitude at home.

He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening and grilling. He was close to his family, had a great sense of humor, and had the heart of a caretaker.

Donald died Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Sanford Health Hospital in Fargo. He was 67 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Quandt of Morris; son, Drew Quandt of Hopkins; mother, Verna Quandt of Benson; siblings, Dwight (Donna) Quandt of Villard, Maureen (Robert) Erdman of Benson, Marilyn Kent of Clontarf, Deb (Terry) Quigley of Burnsville and Paul (Deb) Quandt of Faribault along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Quandt, Sr.; brother-in-law, Scott Kent; great-nephew, Nicholas Justen; grandparents; father and mother-in-law, Rolland J. and Geraldine Peterson along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
