Alfred C. Trumble was born in Long Prairie, Minnesota to Julius Gilbert Trumble and Marie Ann (Dempsey) Trumble on May 30, 1932. His parents owned and operated a dairy and livestock farm in Reynolds Township in Todd County. Alfred grew up in Long Prairie on this farm and graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1950.

He served in the infantry and as Tank Commander. He was discharged from service in May, 1953 as Sgt fc. Returning to civilian life he worked at Minneapolis Honeywell, aero division. On May 23, 1953, Alfred married the only love on his life of 53 years, Janis Pearl Anderson of North East Minneapolis, whose brother was already married to Alfred's sister, June Anderson. Following two years of pre Veterinary Study at the University of Minnesota, Alfred was admitted to the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1955. The couple worked their way through school. Janis worked at the University Hospital and Alfred at studies plus University Vet Clinic, a milk plant, a culvert factory and a filling station part time.

Upon graduation in 1959, with their first child, Matthew, the family joined a practice in Casselton, North Dakota, where their second child, Molli was born. They then started a practice in Morris, MN at Christmas, 1959. Dr. & Mrs. Trumble built and established Morris Veterinary Center on West 5th Street in 1963. In 1972, the family moved to their farm on Highway 59. In 1982, Alfred retired from his Veterinary practice and continued farming.
