Funeral services for Elbert Holslin of Alberta, Minnesota will Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alberta, with Reverend Minette Stalheim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Frog Lake Cemetery, near Alberta.
Elbert Edward Holslin, son of Edward and Alatha (Prickett) Holslin, was born May 24, 1931 on the family farm south of Alberta, MN, where he began his education in a rural school, before attending public school in Alberta. Elbert was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alberta. Elb was a quiet and gentle soul, who loved his family, his farm and wildlife. Elbert enjoyed and took pride in raising Angus cattle and field crops, until he retired in 1986. His love of ducks was well known among his family and friends. Nothing made his eyes light up so much. Elbert was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alberta. He was grateful to have lived his whole life on the family farm on Frog Lake.
Elbert died on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo, Minnesota. He lived to 86 years.
He is survived by his two sisters-in-law: Ethel Holslin of Buffalo and Karen (Kermit) Stahn of Morris; one brother-in-law: Virgil Zade of Red Cloud, NE and four nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Dorothy Zade and two brothers: Bob Holslin and David Holslin.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
