In following Eloise's wishes, no formal services will be held. Eloise will be laid to rest at the Chokio Lutheran Cemetery in Chokio.
Eloise Ann Peterson, lovingly referred to as ‘Pete’ was born the baby of eight children to Jesse and Lorretta (Morrow) Peterson in Morris, Minnesota. Pete was baptized on December 15, 1940, at First Lutheran Church and was confirmed on June 3, 1956, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pete received her education in Morris. Following her schooling, she remained in the Morris area. On November 14, 1956, Eloise was united in marriage to Leonard Neitzel in Webster, South Dakota. They made their home in Morris for a short time and then Chokio. Leonard preceded Pete in death in 2005; she remained in Chokio until moving to West Central Homes in Morris and later West Wind Village where she lived until her death.
Pete loved bowling, reading, and traveling. Most importantly, she was happiest when she was spending time with her family and attending different family functions.
Pete died peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at her home at the West Wind Village in Morris, she was 84 years old.
Pete is survived by her children: Nancy (Clayton) Ritter of Alberta, Marilyn (John) Wendlick of Dickenson, ND, Barbara (Chris) Romberger of St. Cloud, and Kyle (LaBell) Neitzel of California, MD; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; and siblings: Virginia Kettelson, Floyd Peterson, Earl Peterson, Ruth Rivera, Lorraine Lewis, Elwood ‘Jack’ Peterson, and Harold Peterson.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of arrangements for Pete.
