Fern Elaine Bjorlin, the eldest of six children, of Carl and Emma (Engel) Bjorlin was born on March 28, 1921 on the family farm near Chokio, Minnesota. Fern attended District 35 Country School and Chokio Public School only through the 8th grade in order to help her parents on the family farm and with her younger five siblings. On September 23, 1943, Fern was united in marriage to Wilson Thomas Haley. For the next eight years, Tom and Fern farmed near Herman, Minnesota. Tom answered Gods call to the ministry in 1951 and moved his family to Minot, ND, to attend Northwest Bible College. Following his graduation, the family moved to Bottineau, ND, where they pastored a small church. In 1957, Tom and Fern returned to Herman where they were pastors of The Church of God Church. In the fall of 1967, the Haley's answered another call and moved to Pillager, MN, where they served as pastors of the Assembly of God. Tom retired from the parish in 1978. He was not able to enjoy his retirement due to cancer taking his life on October 14, 1979. Tom and Fern were blessed with four children, Gerald, Renee, Dean and Dawn. In 1985, Fern married George Rasmussen, whom she met at Lake Geneva Bible Camp. George and Fern made many wonderful memories traveling and remaining active in the Assembly of God Church in Bloomington. George passed away on November 18, 1992. Fern continued to make her home in Bloomington and in 1996 married Lloyd Blyseth. Lloyd passed away in 2011. Fern continued to live in Bloomington and in February of 2016 moved to the Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, MN.

Fern was a kind and warm loving person, who offered her hand in friendship to everyone she met. Her favorite "job", however, was that of being a Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She loved family and always…always wanted to be surrounded by her family, as she was when she took her final breath on this earth.

Fern died on Monday, July 25, 2016, at the Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, MN. She was 95 years old.

She is survived by her four children: Gerald (Elizabeth) Haley, Alexandria, Renee (Paul) Ersted, Lowry, Dean (Marla) Haley, Maplewood and Dawn (Pete) Anfinsen, Bloomington; eight grandchildren: Michelle (Kolt) Ringer, Deephaven, Erin (Nick) Strub, Bloomington, Ryan (Tarah) Hilbrand, Park City, MT, Allyson (Jon) Loewe, Washougal, WA, Derek (Kathy) Feil, Alexandria, Deidre (Mike) Wierson, Jackson, Brooke Haley, Chanhassen and Landon (Mae) Haley, Maplewood; 12 great-grandchildren: TJ (Timothy John), Ella, Jacob, Drew, Haley, Natalie, Caleb, Emilia, Wilson, Mataya, Adeline and Annabelle and one sister: Carolyn Smith, Donnelly. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents and four brothers: Clifford, Calvin, Paul and Donald.
