Gloria Kill

Funeral services for Gloria Kill of Morris will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church near Morris. Reverend Michael Hanson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 at Good Shepherd Church near Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Gloria Beverly Kill, daughter of Albert and Clara (Folken) Fagre, was born September 10, 1930 in Wendell, Minnesota where she grew up and attended rural school. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wendell. Gloria attended West Central School of Agriculture, graduating in 1947. Following her schooling, she began working at the State Hospital in Fergus Falls and later at the State Hospital in Anoka. Gloria was united in marriage to Robert Peterson on July 3, 1949. The couple continued to live in Anoka where they raised their five children. In 1970, Gloria moved back to Elbow Lake. She married Frank Kill on August 21, 1976 at Epiphany Catholic Church in Blaine. Following their marriage, the couple made their home on Frank's family farm near Morris. In the mid 1990's, they moved to their home in Morris, where they have continued to live.

Gloria was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and former member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morris and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling, including a trip through Europe for seven weeks in 1983 with Ave Gray and traveling to Texas with Frank in the winters. Gloria also enjoyed fishing, visiting her family at the lake cabin and going to the casino.

Gloria died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at her home in Morris. She lived to reach the age of 83 years.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Kill of Morris; four children: Roger Peterson of Isanti, Bonnie (Frank) Drexler of Isanti, Rodney "Toby" (Laurie) Peterson of Ham Lake and James Peterson of St. Paul; ten grandchildren: Missy, Dawn, Dana, Andrea, Michelle, Jason, Katie, Johnny, Brandon and Ryan; 14 great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Steven, Azaria, Natasha, Leah, Jenna, Ava, Jaden, Damin, Brody, Baylor, Jordan, Kiera and Jada; three great-great-grandchildren: Monty, Savannah and Elizabeth; brother-in-law, Harlow Blum of CA; two sisters-in-law: Helen Kill of Morris, and Elise Kill of Benson. She was preceded in death by one son, David Peterson; sister, Audrey Blum; two brothers: Jerome and infant Deloes Fagre; three half-brothers: Archie, Harry and Laurel Fagre; half-sister, Betty Wicklund and sister-in-law, Luella Kosek
